Picture of the Day ~ Week 3

 

Monday {01.16.12}

We had I Man's 2 year pictures taken today.  I will use one of those pictures for today's POTD.

His Day

I Man turned 2 on Friday...TWO!?!  When I went in to get him up I said, "Happy Birthday, buddy!" to which he replied, "Happy Birthday, too."  Then L wanted to sing Happy Birthday and when we were done, I Man wanted us to "sing it 'gain!"  The rest of his day was fairly normal...

Once D came home from work {with a pizza for supper!}, he got to open his present (a new basketball hoop!).

2 Years Ago Today...

we added to our family by one.  A sweet baby boy born a week and a half early and 29 hours late (yes, my labor lasted 29 long hours!!!).

He has added so much joy and laughter to our lives and we are so very thankful for him.

Today he is 2 years old {I can't believe he's 2 - sniff, sniff}! 

Happy Birthday, I Man!

Picture of the Day {2012} ~ Weeks 1 & 2

Back by popular demand {ok, not really but both my mom and sister have asked what's going on with the blog}, I present POTD 2012! 

I have to admit, one of my New Year's resolutions (and remember, I'm not a big fan of New Year's resolutions) was to spend less time on the computer.  How am I doing?  Um, not so good, even without blogging!  Sigh!  But, daily picture taking has become such a part of my life that I'm still doing it and if I'm taking the pictures, I may as well share them with you, right?!  I do hope to save myself some time (both now by not writing up a detailed explanation of each picture and later by having less work when it comes to turning these posts into a POTD scrapbook blog book) and money (in theory my POTD blog book will be half as long and twice as cheap, since I'm only devoting 1 page per week, instead of 2) by adding only the day, date and a short phrase to each picture.  If you need further explanation, you'll just have to leave a comment!  ;-)

So, what do you think of the 2012 POTD format?  Love it?  Hate it?  Totally indifferent?  We'll see how it goes...

Picture of the Day ~ Week 52

I did it!!  I successfully kept a New Year's Resolution by taking a picture every day for the past 365 days {more or less}!  This has been such a fun project for me and I adore the pictures and memories I've preserved one day at a time.  I'll be even more happy, though, when I have my finished Picture of the Day blog book (which I am several weeks behind on) in my hands.  Maybe I'll wait until then to decide if I should do it again for 2012?  What do you think? 

Christmas day was a relaxing one with more sweets and some jewelry making courtesy of L's new pop art bead set!

We drove all the way home today which meant we were in the van for about 6 hours!  In this picture, L was singing Away in the Manger {for about the millionth time!} and I Man was shouting, "Stop!"  And when we got within 5 miles of our house, L said, "this is taking forever, dad did you go the wrong way or something?  Maybe we should go back and start over!"  Needless to say, we were all very happy to be home!

It's a fact, lying on the floor at our house means you'll have two little ones on your back in less than 5 seconds! 

I love that she's playing and singing at the same time.  I used to do that too!

I'm just about ready to take Christmas down at our house.  But our Christmas card display will stay up for a while...

We had our first official snow day today!

We celebrated our final Christmas today and these three kids were very excited to open the last of their presents!

We spent our final Christmas with D's family on New Year's Eve.  D's sister hosted what was a Christmas/Birthday/New Year's celebration!  It was a fun night with more presents, food, family and fun!  Unfortunately, I didn't take very many pictures (what is my problem!?) and the ones I did take only included the kids and J and K {don't worry...we were all there!}.  I guess I'm going to have to borrow some more pictures for this Christmas, too!

As soon as the presents were all opened, it was back to K's room because even new Christmas toys can't compete with that awesome tractor bed!

Snow Day!

Well, we finally got enough snow to play in

and shovel!

L couldn't wait to get out and catch snowflakes on her tongue!

I Man wasn't too excited about it, asking me if we could go in the van

and preferring to walk where D had already shoveled {that is until he wiped out twice on the glare ice under the snow!}.
