Off to the Races!

This weekend we took a road trip to see D's mom ride in the NBHA (National Barrel Horse Association) State Finals. She raced 2 different horses on 3 different days and ended up winning 2nd place in Seniors and 3D! Congratulations, D! We were there Friday night and all day Saturday. L loved watching the horses...for a little while anyway. She would say, "go, horsey, go!" Here are some pictures from our weekend.

L says, "Yay! Good Job!" while clapping.
Daddy explaining the details of barrel racing to L.
L was equally interested in these tractors that would drag the arena after every 5 riders.
For the times when L got bored, we had books! Imagine that! Here's D riding Scout in the 1st go. "Go, grandma!" yells L. Sorry it's blurry, she's just too fast! :-)

L told Grandma, "Good job!" when she got back.
Saturday morning we took L in the pool at the hotel...
Apparently the hour we spent swimming wasn't enough as she did this when we got back to our room and said, "I go swimming again!"
Back at the arena, the day was much of the same except this time there were more people to entertain her! J, D and Baby K came and so did J's mom D! L had fun watching the horses and tractors and taking periodic walks. She did well considering she had NO nap!

We all had a great weekend and even now as L stands here looking at the above picture of Grandma on the horse she is saying, "Go, go, go!" She told me several times this weekend, "I ride horsey too!" Uh oh! We'll see about that one! :-)
