Catching Up {March}

In March, we taught the kids how to play Uno

put my Pinterest addiction to use with restaurant tic tac toe

watched a little lot of Little House on the Prairie (L is wearing her 'sleeping bonnet' just like Laura and Mary)

welcomed the first day of spring with bubbles in the 3 season porch since it is still way too cold to be outside(!)

found out I Man knows 'his' letter

celebrated Easter in IA with a trip to see the baby chicks and ducks

and Rook, of course.

A Peek into February

Project Life is still happening around here (sort of!).  Here's a peek into February at our house (aside from the sledding, birthdays and cookie making I just backposted about today!)...

Both D and I got new glasses in February.  I adore mine, but once again my glasses are giving me a headache.  They're redoing my lenses and I'm hoping they'll be fixed so I can actually wear them!!

The boys watched part of the Superbowl together (while snacking on crackers).

I was getting ready one morning when I heard L 'reading' to I Man.  I grabbed my camera and peeked into the room to find this.

Potty training is still going on around here!  I Man is doing well but leaving him on the potty too long may or may not result in this.

We endured a blizzard in February

which dumped about 10 inches of snow on the area and had plenty of wind to blow it all around.  Businesses and roads were closed and we hunkered down at home with...

 games

and a pizza picnic in front of Cars 2.

Valentine's Day arrived with homemade cards for D...

 and heart shaped cupcakes!

Play-doh has cured much boredom around here

(he loves to cut anything...play-doh included!).

 As well as books,

fun lunches (L added the extra raisins as 'eyelashes' for her girl elephant!),

 value shakes

 and games!

And now it's March so come on spring!

We could really, really use you right about NOW!

C is for Cookie

As you know, I Man and I have been going through the alphabet much like L and I did when she was his age.  So far, the letters he remembers best are ones we've made into 'boyish' things such as tractor and dinosaur.  However, we've discovered that food works, too.  As in cookies...

A Smashing Good Time

Both Cousin K and Baby D have birthdays in February so they celebrated together with a Monster Truck party!

Another awesome cake by J (yes, those are working lights...)

and a spare tire just for Baby D!

They also had some great 'themed' party food like spare tires (donuts), dipsticks (chocolate covered pretzel rods) and oil (diet pepsi), antifreeze (green kool-aid) and gasoline (ginger ale) to drink!  Pinterest worthy and totally up my alley!  ;)

Happy 1st and 4th Birthdays, D and K!
We had a smashing good time!

Sledding on the 8th

...of February. I remember the date because it was Cousin K's 4th birthday! We met at the sledding hill in town for what would be my kids' very first experience sledding (aside from being pulled around the yard, of course!).  When we arrived we were surprised to find a rather large, steep and icy hill, so we stuck to the bottom half which proved to be just about right for our 3, 4 and 5 year olds.

 These two enjoyed racing down...

and back up the hill, too!

D and L did attempt the big hill.

 But it was fast...

too fast for L (who had her eyes shut the entire time!).  She didn't ask to go again and insisted on 'doing it herself' on the little hill for the rest of the evening!

 Baby D was there, too!

We warmed up for a bit with some hot chocolate before heading out for a few more trips down the hill...

before Space Aliens for a birthday supper!

Happy Birthday, Cousin K!
