Catching Up {June}

 In June, Cousin C stayed with us for a while and read bedtime stories to the kids

 

 he discovered that super heroes are almost as much fun as cheetah

 

they painted with sidewalk chalk paint

 

 she had her face painted (at a local 'Share a Story' event)

 

 and he sat in a fire truck

 

 she took tennis lessons

 

 he celebrated Father's Day

 she blew bubbles

 

 and rode her bike

 

 she was a flower girl

 

 and he was a ring sign bearer (he looks so happy, doesn't he?)

 

 I celebrated yet another birthday

 

 we visited the geographical center of North America

 

 and the tallest manmade structure in the western hemisphere

 

 he got a 'new to him' trike

 

and she went down the big water slide with Cousin J (and once by herself, too!).

The Fight is On!

 

 

Yesterday I took the kids outside for a 'fun' alphabet/letter sound review. 

 

With squirt guns.

 

It was a fun game, but, you know, there are only so many letters in the alphabet and when L and I Man said, "we want to keep playing" I agreed to a water fight.  My only rule: don't squirt each other in the face.

Catching Up {May}

 In May, L and I attended our first mother daughter ice cream social

 

 I got a new camera(!)

 

 we flew a kite

 

 he played tee ball

 

 they hung out with cousins (the 'matching' outfits are purely coincidental, I promise!)

 

 I celebrated Mother's Day

 

 we biked to the park

 

 she picked dandelions

 

 they ran a 5K

 

 Grandpa and Grandma visited

 

 Grandma caught the first fish of the fishing 'trip'

 

 we all ate hot dogs at the pit

 

 we got 4.5 inches of rain in 5 hours

 

and he moved to a big boy bed!

Catching Up {April}

 In April, my Project Life kit arrived and I ceased blogging (or was it before then?) but I didn't quit memory keeping(!)

 

 my cousin C married K in Colorado

 

 and I got to be there(!)

 

 we bought a new game to beat the winter blues (yes it's still winter!)

 

 D attended his first (and last, he hopes) bridal shower

 

 we got more snow (this was April 15)

 

 but D shoveled a trench so L could at least swing

 

and spring. finally, arrived (this was April 29)!
